Signed, Sealed, Deeded

It may be a surprise. It surprised my husband too.

We didn't choose the new build.

We didn't choose the spacious and comfortable 70's fixer. (It had really good bones.)

The first time we walked into this home...

 We were home.

It may not be the fanciest home, but it was the home that felt like it welcomed us.

How does drywall and timber rise up to greet your soul?
I don't know. I'm still scratching my head on that one.
Our kids felt it. I felt it.

Like a faithful four legged friend, this home greeted us with a sense of belonging as soon as we stepped in the door.

And to think that I didn't want to see this home at first. I thought it looked way to small for our family of five.

So, today I am reminded of the doors we sometimes shut ourselves - the ones that would gladly swing open and surprise us if we had the open mind to embrace the unknown.
